Great Pizza. They use fresh ingredients and nice thin crust. The price is great too, order an 18' pie for $10.
There are problems understanding the staff at times, but the angry guy is a part of what makes it Christian's downtown.

This pizza is a joke. I had the lowest expectations going in and I was still let down. Do not waste your money.

I have tried Christians and wasn't impressed. The pizza was shockingly greasy and the crust was too crunchy. The staff are very lazy, and sometimes racist! Overall there are better places to eat pizza.
A side note- Who charges for Refills and yells at you for sampling the lemonade before filling your cup with it?

Glad to see there are other locations now. Downtown is where I grab a slice or two on Saturday afternoons following City Market. Good selections, fast service (don't know how the employees keep all those slices heating in order!), and clean rest rooms. Great crust too. Good place to people watch. Keep up the good work!

I'm surprised that reheated pizza could taste so good! (You get to select a slice of several different varieties of pizzas they have a the counter.) Cheese is added at the very end and thrown into the oven. I would definitely recommend this place.

We ordered a pizza for take out at the new location near the Town Center. The pizza was burned to the point that you couldn't even bite the crust! Very disappointing.

the idea is good. pizza for people who actually enjoy the taste of food. however i prefer to not hve my high quality pizza be sitting out all day with flies buzzing around it. if i wanted leftover pizza that was reheated i would go to elsewhere, wake up the next morning and throw it inthe microwave and eat it for breakfast.

My husband and I eat here frequently, and we always enjoy what we order. Their selection is vast and their prices are quite competitive. I have ordered in and taken out and never had the problems described below (burnt or underheated). I have also never experienced any screaming. Only friendly service and good pizza in an (understandably) busy restaurant.

I find the whole experience of eating at Christian's kind of stressful. I'm short, so I can't see the pizzas easily, and I always feel like I have to yell over the plastic sneezeguard to order what I want. Then there's always some confusion at the register about whose order is whose. The toppings are creative, sure, but it's not this place that created them. The pizza also has a super-crunchy crust of which I'm not terribly fond.

Definitely the biggest topping selection I've ever seen! If you're a veggie fan, then this is your heaven---they put avocados, whole olives and mushrooms, tomato slices, feta cheese, and many more choices on a pizza. As far as meat lovers go, the selection is about the same as any other place---pepperoni, sausage, bacon, and ham. But the ingredients they use are top-notch, which makes a huge difference in the taste of the pizza! Very busy during lunch time, but certainly worth it. Very reasonably priced too.

I may not have tried every slice of pizza in Charlottesville, but I've sure given it my best shot. Christian's isn't traditional and it isn't ordinary, but it is amazing. No other place in town has such an eclectic selection of toppings with or such a crisp crust to hold it all together. If you're looking for the same old stuff, don't go there. If you're willing to stand in line, capable of being polite to the workers, and wanting to get a great slice (or two) of pizza, head over to Christian's.

I was standing at the counter yelling at the employee. He acknowledged us and then said he would help us as soon as he helped the people who had just walked through the door. By the way, the restaraunt gave a black gentleman standing next to us the same treatment. He did not appreciate the treatment he received anymore than we did. Unsatisfactory!

The food is usually good. The specialty slices are a bit expensive, but big. I'd pick a $5 slice of pizza and drink from there anytime over a $5 fast food heart attack.

About 3 months ago, my wife and I went to eat Pizza and the staff would not serve us. We left and attributed the staff's unwillingness to serve us to the fact the restaraunt was busy. On Sunday, 29 May, 2:30 P.M. we went back a second time. This time the restaraunt was not busy. Again, the staff would not serve us. After 5 minutes of patiently waiting, I got the worker's attention and told him we would like to order. The worker told me I would have to wait until he served the couple that just walked through the door! I can only conclude the staff at Christian's pizza would not serve us because the restaraunt discriminates based on race. My wife is Asian and I am caucasion. Perhaps they don't like mixed couples or maybe they only cater to the college crowd. Whatever the reason, we will NEVER go back there. It was such a bad experience that I plan to inform all my co-workers and friends about what happened there.

The steak calzone I had for lunch today was incredible! Plenty of meat and cheese, plus onions, peppers and mushrooms. I've had many of the by-the-slice options, and all are good. But the calzone was the most satisfying lunch I've had in a while - and only $4.50!

I live downtown and always get a whole pepperoni pizza to take home, so I can't refute the bad reviews about the individual slices or the standing in line... I call in the order, it's ready in 15 minutes, and it's steaming hot and delicious. Not to mention that the pizza is so big that there are plenty of leftovers.

Christian, the owner, reminds me of the Soup Nazi of Seinfeld fame.
The pizza is far above average, as is the service -- not a sit down place with ambience, but convenient to the mall, and great for lunch or an evening quick meal.

Three Words... O-VER-ATED. Christian's, like many other popular C-ville hotspots, is absolutely horrible. Not only do you wait in line forever to get your food, but the food that you finally get isn't even good. The only redeeming quality of the pizza is the toppings which are generally abundant and delicious. That's where the problem lies, though. The toppings are so good they mask the foul taste of the burnt piece of cardboard they are sitting on. Of course the pizza will taste delicious when there is a pound of spinach and artichokes and top. There are much better options available...actually just go anywhere else in town but Christian's. Since Charlottesvillians typically have horrible taste in restaurants (among other things) I would highly recommend finding the most popular places in town and avoiding them at all costs.

Am I missing something here?
I'm a newcomer to C'ville and due to the great ratings of this pizza place including best by C'ville mag I thought it must be great.
What I saw when I walked in was pizza sitting under heat lamps. Huh? Where's this outstanding pizza everyone's raving about?
Let me just say, I've eaten pizza at the highest rated joints from New York to Detroit to Chicago, down to Key West and everywhere in between. Pre-made pizza sitting under heatlamps and warmed up when I order it doesn't cut the mustard.
It was mediocre at best. I guess if I was a broke college student it might seem like a good buy but c'mon, it anything close to Lombardi's in NYC.

My favorite Pizza joint by a mile. BIG by-the-slice style. Thin crispy crust and a crazy selection of toppings. It's a shame you can't get a free drink re-fill (I guess too many mall rats and bums would hang there all day). It's usually messy and the line can be confusing, but no big deal. I'll keep going back.
