The Tuesday $12 entree is a must to have. We ordered steak and blacken tilapia. The food is outstanding and special. Especially the blacken tilapia, usually for a fish, it will be grilled, steamed, fried. This blacken is very fresh and tasty, with a thin crisp crust.

The steak comes with a blue cheese sauce, but it has more layer of favor in the source that goes with the steak sooo well.

Some restaurant has good food in a general way, but this one has great food in a special way. We are definitely going back to try other dishes.

The food at Maya is delicious but I don't think I'd go just because of the prices. I ended up paying $24 including tax and tip for an entree I probably could've made at home or gotten at another seafood restaurant for much less.

BUT...do try the sweet potato fries. I think I could eat just the fries and be content.

The decor of the restaurant is really cozy and the waitstaff is very attentive.

If you don't mind spending more than you're supposed to, Maya is a great restaurant.

Absolutely one of the best places in Charlottesville to eat! The staff is amazing, accommodating and the food is always fantastic. Not to mention, Ted, one of the bartenders is soooo friendly and nearly remembers every face. And Hillary, a waitress, is the best. Comfortable enough for a chill night out, or classic enough for date night.

Still the best place to go on a tuesday night. A lot of fun there, and cool people. The bartenders are the best.

How disappointing: Early Sunday evening, patio has 6+ open tables, we ask to sit outside and as we are a couple, and not a 4 person party, are told we will have to joint the other couple at the bar and wait 30 minutes or longer for an available table. Never mind that more than six were available, not reserved, but obviously reserved in spirit for a 4 person group. We left for greener pastures; how ridiculous and rude, not to mention a bad business policy.
