I went back on a Monday night and the service was fabulous and the food was just as good last time. The lamb and beef samosas had a really nice crunch and came hot out of the pan. Mango chutney was just the right sweetness. I was slightly concerned when the server asked me how well I wanted my salmon cooked but I let it slip since the kitchen staff ended up making my dish correctly.

Overall, a good meal. Freshly baked bread with sweet butter...SO GOOD. Next time would skip the appetizer and just save room for the free bread. We got the calamari, which (for $11) was a let down...small portion, soggy. Both chicken dishes were very tasty...the Durban spiced chicken and the Peri peri chicken. Friendly, attentive service.

I was there with a party of 12. The food was great but the service was subpar. I'd probably go back on a weekday with a few friends instead of a party of 12.

This is one of my new favorite restaurants in Charlottesville-- I can't wait to go again! I went on a fairly busy Friday night for dinner with 2 friends and we got a table within minutes, much to our surprise. The food was very good. I had the sosatie, which was very good. The flavor of the lamb was great. We also shared the appetizer sampler. A word of warning: if you do not like very spicy hot wings, beware! These were so hot that I started to sweat. But they were still very good. The highlight of the meal was the Koek Sisters and ice cream, practically a warm donut with ice cream on top. Amazingly delicious. I wish I wasn't so full, or I would have gotten the black, white, and brown cow as well. The restaurant was inviting and the decor was unique; it definitely added to the experience. The only downer to our evening was when the server forgot to put in for our appetizer sampler. We got it eventually (though after our entrees), but it was still great. Hey, when it's a busy night and you've had a long shift, you're bound to slip up. It really wasn't a problem. All the food was great.
