i like their special shooters menu. it's fun. i love their food but i think it could cost a dollar or two less - $10 is a bit much for chicken tenders and fries, seems more like a 7-8 dollar meal to me, but the tenders are delicious so i treat myself to them sometimes. love the cheese fries. they have waffle fries!

By far my favorite restaurant I've been to!!!!!

Good place. If your a local you get a Mug that is kept on file for your future visits. I've always enjoyed the food. I typically visit for lunch and I believe the owner himself does most of the cooking, which would explain the good good and consistency.

Good food, good service...no complaints

Sure, I'm in the St. Maarten Cafe's coconut club. That's because I have been going to the St. Maarten Cafe for years. Why? Because the food is good and I get treated like one of the family. Like many people I know, they swear by the St. Maarten Cafe as being a must if you live in Charlottesville. The owner, Jim, cares about what people think and welcomes all new comers. When you walk in, look straight ahead and look at the "specials" board. You may find that big plate of meatloaf w/mashed potatoes that you have been craving.

I love their food! Awesome!!

Okay, so the wings are pretty good here. Maybe some of the best in town. But the service is really hit or miss. The drinks are pretty expensive too.

Despite their fairly good food, I have a few specific problems with St. Maarten's:

1) Uncomfortable seating.
2) Stinky, smoky environment that sticks to your clothes and hair for days afterward.
3) Some of their service staff are slow, nasty, patronizing, sarcastic, and/or condescending.
4) The beer is served in awkward, fragile flutes.
5) The beer is way too expensive!
6) The wings are often undercooked and/or undersauced.
7) They charge you $0.50 for the "rocks" part of "on the rocks."
8) Your loyalty to their establishment is never, ever rewarded with the kind of deals you might expect as a regular.
9) After you've been going there for months, and having spent thousands of dollars, you might eventually receive the honor of being invited to purchase an engraved mug that essentially guarantees that you'll never go anywhere else on The Corner.
10) Where in the heck are the windows?

Other than those ten things, Maarten's is a wonerful place! (No, but seriously, they do typically serve a good wing. Try the honey habanero!)

Dragon Wings are the best ever!

The BEST food anywhere in Charlottesville. Tuesday is double wing night (2 orders for only 1 buck more than 1 order) and they are great! The staff is amazing and you can pretty much modify anything there, so dont be afraid to ask! YUM!

I used to love the grilled chicken caesar salad, then I finally tried the wings!! They are amazing! The waitstaff are really nice. If you don't mind cigarette smoke you could fall in love with the place.

not only the best wings in town, but a great late night menu til 1 am. the sonoma valley salad with grilled chicken and the balsamic dressing is tremendous---the chicken and penne pasta in a garlic cream sauce is the bomb---friendly, reasonable, and alot of fun!!

Food is great, staff treats you like family. I will ALWAYS be a customer at St. Maarten's Cafe.

Friendly waitstaff and ample servings! I love the Grilled Chicken Ceasar Salad. The hamburgers are good too!

GREAT place...the owner insists on the best in customer service and the food is great whether ordering from the bar or a booth.

The best hot wings I've ever had. Completely reasonable prices. Good nachos and other bar food type things too, and interesting sounding specials.

I eat lunch (take out) there on a regular basis and I love their food! Though it is a bit pricey...it is usually worth it! They have huge sandwiches and their cajun cheese fries with ranch dipping sauce is wonderful! A personal favorite is the "Sonoma Valley Salad". I also like their steak and cheese hoagies! Great food, Great people!
